Avani Lekhara Wins Gold, Mona Agarwal Takes Bronze at Paralympics 2024

Avani Lekhara, the Tokyo Paralympics champion, once again made India proud by winning the gold medal at the Paris Paralympics in the women’s 10-meter air rifle event. On the second day of the Paris Paralympics, India celebrated winning two medals. While Avani took home the gold, Mona Agarwal clinched the bronze in the same competition.

India’s star para shooter Avani Lekhara aimed for gold in the women’s 10-meter air rifle final at the Paris Paralympics 2024, earning India its first medal. Avani had previously won gold at the Tokyo Paralympics as well. Mona Agarwal also contributed to India’s tally by winning the bronze medal.

The second day at the Paris Paralympics was remarkable for India. Avani defended her title in the women’s 10-meter air rifle standing SH1 event by winning gold and set a new Olympic record with a score of 249.7 points.

Mona Wins Bronze Medal

Avani, breaking her own Paralympic record set in Tokyo 2020, became India’s most successful female Paralympic athlete. India won two medals in the same event, with 36-year-old Mona Agarwal securing the bronze by scoring 228.7 points, finishing in third place.
