Delhi Rains Severe Traffic Jam from Dhaula Kuan to Rajouri Garden; Heavy Waterlogging and Traffic Alerts

Heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR has resulted in severe traffic congestion across several routes, leaving commuters stranded and facing difficulties reaching their destinations. The Delhi Traffic Police have issued an alert, urging people to check their routes for traffic updates before heading out.

Traffic Conditions:

Today, Delhi-NCR is experiencing intense rainfall, causing significant waterlogging and severe traffic jams on major routes, including:

  • Dhaula Kuan to Rajouri Garden: Heavy traffic congestion.
  • South Extension to Moti Bagh: Long traffic jams.

Additionally, waterlogging has affected traffic in front of the Old Delhi Railway Station, where ongoing work by civic agencies on the Chhatta Rail to Peeli Kothi route is causing delays. Diversions have been implemented from Chhatta Rail Red Light.

Traffic Police Alerts:

  • Red Light at Lal Kuan: Traffic is affected on the carriageway from Lal Kuan to Okhla Industrial Area due to ongoing DJB work on Anandmai Marg.
  • Ring Road: Both carriageways from Safdarjung towards Dhaula Kuan and vice-versa are affected due to heavy waterlogging near Satya Niketan Bus Stand. Plan your journey accordingly.

Heavy waterlogging under the Dhaula Kuan Flyover is impacting traffic on Ring Road, Vande Mataram Marg, and GGR. Traffic is also affected on both carriageways of Ring Road between Safdarjung and Dhaula Kuan, and on the route from Moti Bagh Chowk to Sector-8 R.K. Puram due to waterlogging near Moti Bagh Chowk.

Traffic on Vikas Marg:

Despite the absence of rain in some NCR areas, traffic congestion persists on Vikas Marg, where the situation remains problematic even without rainfall.
