Dharambir’s performance had a rough start with four foul throws, but he didn’t give up and went on to take the lead in his fifth attempt.
35-year-old Dharambir hails from Sonipat, Haryana. He is an F51 athlete, with his lower body severely impacted, which requires him to participate while seated. His disability is the result of a tragic accident when he dived into water and misjudged its depth, leading to a collision with a rock. This incident left him paralyzed.

Harvinder Singh made history by becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal in archery at the Paralympics. Competing in the men’s individual recurve open final, 33-year-old Harvinder defeated Poland’s Lukasz Ciszek with a score of 6-0 to claim the gold.
Harvinder was born into a farming family in Ajit Nagar, Haryana. At just one and a half years old, he contracted dengue and was given injections as part of his treatment. Unfortunately, the side effects of those injections resulted in a permanent loss of mobility in his legs.
