India Celebrates First National Space Day with Rare Moon Images from Chandrayaan-3

National Space Day became extra special this year, thanks to the Pragyan Rover and Vikram Lander, who shared some rare images of the moon after a year.

It’s been a year since Chandrayaan-3 landed on the moon. Just a day before National Space Day, ISRO amazed us again with another achievement by the Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover. ISRO has shared some incredible pictures taken by them. Last year, Chandrayaan-3 began its journey from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh to the moon, landing successfully on August 23.

Today, the country is celebrating National Space Day. It has been a year since Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the moon. On the eve of this special day, ISRO revealed another remarkable feat by the Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover. They shared some stunning photos captured by these two explorers.

To give you some background, Chandrayaan-3 started its journey to the moon from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on July 14 last year, successfully making a soft landing on the moon’s south pole on August 23. Highlighting this achievement, ISRO stated that they are sharing some pictures taken by the Vikram Lander and Pragyan Rover to mark the first anniversary of Chandrayaan-3’s landing.

Why We Celebrate National Space Day Today

The government decided to celebrate National Space Day on August 23 to remember Chandrayaan-3’s successful soft landing. Today, India is celebrating its first National Space Day. The spot where the landing occurred is named Shiv Shakti Point.

Union ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Nitin Gadkari, and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya expressed their joy over India’s space achievements on the social media platform X, also thanking Prime Minister Modi for his support.
