Sports Desk, New Delhi: India secured another medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh triumphed over Korea to win bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. This victory came after Manu’s individual bronze in the same event on Sunday. The Indian duo defeated Korea with a score of 16-10.
This marks the first time since the 2012 London Olympics that India has won two Olympic medals in shooting. Manu has become India’s first female shooter to win two Olympic medals and the first athlete to win two medals in a single Olympic Games.
Comeback After a Slow Start
Manu and Sarabjot scored 580 in the qualification round, securing their place in the bronze medal match. The Indian pair got off to a shaky start, scoring 18.8 against Korea’s 20.5 in the first round. However, they quickly recovered, scoring 21.2 and 20.8 in the following rounds, while Korea managed 19.9 and 19.8, respectively.
Despite Korea taking a timeout before the sixth series, Manu and Sarabjot maintained their lead, sealing the victory and creating history.
